Kenny Chesney’s Poets & Pirates Tour 2008 will play Lucas Oil Stadium before pal and Pro Bowl quarterback Peyton Manning does when he will play the brand new venue on Sept. 13. Chesney will be joined by Keith Urban, LeAnn Rimes, Gary Allan and Luke Bryan.
Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, March 28. Prices are $99.50, $79.50, $59.50 and $29.50 for reserved seats.
Chesney had the biggest tour of 2007 – behind the Police’s two decades in the making Reunion Tour – and played to over 1 million fans played for the sixth consecutive year. He played Verizon Wireless Music Center, 12880 E. 146th St. in Noblesville, on July 12, 2007 with Sugarland and Pat Green.
Kenny Chesney wanted to do something even bigger for his 2008 Poets & Pirates Tour. Having enjoyed sellouts in six NFL Stadiums as part of his award-winning Flip Flop Summer Tour, the three consecutive and reigning Academy of Country Music and three-time and current Country Music Association Entertainer of the Year is upping the ante: announcing 13 football
stadiums, including the Indianpolis Colts new venue.
“It’s amazing to me how much intimacy you can have in a place that big,” Chesney marvels. “But there’s something in those big shows you can’t get anywhere else: a whole other kind of energy. You feel those fans all the way to the top, and there’s nothing like it. And they come to have a big day with us; you can hear it when they sing ‘Back Where I Come From’ or ‘Anything But Mine.’ It’s a blast, and I can’t wait.”
Good friend and Grammy-winning multi-platinum superstar Keith Urban will be sharing the bill. Also joining Chesney on the Indianapolis date are Grammy-winning LeAnn Rimes, platinum progressive West Coast country star Gary Allan, and newcomer Luke Bryan.
“We’re changing it up to keep it interesting,” says Chesney, who last year conquered the NFL
Stadiums in Boston, Cleveland, Detroit, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Seattle. “Anyone who’s been to one of these shows knows… the folks sharing the stage with us put out a lot of fire power! We have a big stage, and everybody does their very biggest show. It’s pretty exciting to see everybody bringing their biggest game… but then, isn’t that the whole point of getting into a stadium in the first place?”
Chesney has not announced whether he will also play at Verizon during the 2008 summer tour.
Tickets will be available at www.KennyChesney.com, at Ticketmaster locations, by visiting www.ticketmaster.com or by calling (317) 239-5151.
